Online Business English& Methodology Teacher Training/Linguaprof  traineeship programme

The goals of this online course are to teach and practice the main Business English terms and connect with ideas regarding methods and techniques used at a Business English class. Thus, the overall goal is- completed by a 50 hour practical teaching module- to give a serious impulse for students and young teachers who would like to start a career as a Business English trainer.

Duration: 1st February- 1st July 2010

24 lessons, 1 lesson/week- 1 lesson = approximately 2 hours of study

Business topics:

The terminology of marketing (weeks 1-2)

The terminology of PR (weeks 3-4)

The terminology of sales (weeks 5-6)

The terminology of general management (weeks 7-8)

The terminology of finance (weeks 9-10)

The terminology of HR (weeks 11-12)

The terminology of everyday business communication (weeks 11-12)

Methodology:

Main approaches in language teaching and their use in BE teaching (week13)

Learner types and why/ what should we know about them? (week14)

The PPP sequences and its practical relevance in Business English teaching (week 15)

Communicative approach in BE teaching (week 16)

Roles of teacher/ the 4 skills in BE teaching (week 17)

Language systems: vocabulary, grammar and language functions in BE teaching (week 18)

Grammar in context, teaching applied grammar at a BE class (week 19)

Using video and audio at a BE class, techniques, tips, advice (weeks 20-24)
